To Restore, Defend and Protect the Constitutional Rights of Owners or designated representatives in Common Interest Communities.
To level the playing field through checks and balances; and to Empower Owners or designated representatives to hold the Association Boards and their Supporting industries accountable.
History of AZHOC:
Arizona Homeowners Coalition (AZHOC) was created by a group of individuals in 2016 after being approached by Senator David Farnsworth over the rising concerns of Association members regarding the loss of property and other rights; and the abusive practices of experienced by the Home and Unit owners within their Associations.
During the summer of 2016, Senator Farnsworth convened an HOA Workgroup made up of legislative HOA Advocates and concerned Association members experiencing serious conflicts and disputes with the governance of their Community or Condominium Association.
Then at the end of the year the workgroup organized into the Arizona Homeowners Coalition (AZHOC). AZHOC has several individual lobbyists that are duly registered with the Secretary of State who now actively the collective goals of AZHOC. This was a historical event in Arizona as there has never been a formal organization with lobbyists that represents the interests of the individual home and unit owner members prior to the existence of AZHOC.
Jill Schweitzer was one of the original members of the HOA workgroup who AZHOC considers as one of its original Founder. She passed away unexpectedly in October 2016. To honor her memory, we have dedicated our Legislative actions by creating “Jills Action Alert”.
Jill’s Action Alert shall be a reminder of her perseverance and shall be a Legacy of her Life’s Work. It shall provide as a beacon of hope that AZHOC shall persevere in seeking the changes that she would have fought for.
AZHOC’s collective efforts will be dedicated towards Housing and Unit Owner’s Association Reform.
